High resolution SEM images of samples from a UK North Sea sandstone oil reservoir. The sandstones are Jurassic and Triassic age. The reservoir was buried to a depth of circa 2500 m and has been exposed to significant diagenesis resulting in substantial cements, clays and secondary porosity from partial grain dissolution. The diagenesis has created a complex pore space with a wide range of pore sizes.
