Biofilm Imaging in Porous Media by Laboratory X-ray Tomography: Combining a Non-Destructive Contrast Agent with Propagation-Based Phase-Contrast Imaging Tools.
Raw and segmented FeSO4 data after Lorentzian filter application Sample Data
Raw and segmented data presented in Carrel et al. (2017). The porous media consists of nafion grains in which biofilm was cultivated for 7 days. Iron sulfate (FeSO4) was added to the growth medium and used as a contrast agent. A Lorentzian filter applied on the radiographs allowed to substantially enhance contrast and reduce noise.
