Image dimensions are 1677 x 1677 x 2200. After the core sample was imaged by µCT, polished and coated thin sections extracted from the core plug were scanned by Quantitative Evaluation of Minerals by Scanning Electron Microscopy (QEMSCAN). Mineral compositions were quantified by Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy; the 2D BSEM images were processed with NanoMin software and then registered into the 3D µCT tomogram to align the BSEM image with the corresponding region in the registered µCT 3D image. Minerals of the µCT 3D images were then segmented based on the X- ray intensity values. Data is stored in 8-bit binary format with the following labels:
phase 0: Pore;
phase 1: Clay (dominated by Illite);
phase 2 : Quartz ;
phase 3: Feldspar;
phase 4: Micas;
phase5 : mix group including Sulfides(Pyrite) and other high density minerals.
