Lacquer peels made from Brazos River deposits (Texas, USA), showing small scale (festoon) cross-bedding resulting from the downstream migration of small sand ripples. One vertical section is oriented in the dip direction (~parallel to flow), and the other in strike orientation (~perpendicular to flow). Original specimen obtained circa 1965 by Shell Development Company, Exploration and Production Research Division, Houston, TX.
